Find a book
Have you ever gone into a store to find a book to leave disappointed and empty handed? Sometimes local bookstores don't carry everything that we need, so other measures have to be taken to capture that literary masterpiece that we long to read again.
Before beginning your book search, know precisely what you are hunting for. Have the exact title, author's name, edition number, and year of publication on hand. If you are looking to find a book to add to your collection, keep in mind that everything about the condition counts. The edition number and the binding type will impact the cost.
There are several websites online that are specifically designed to help people find a book that they need. One such site, Bookfinder.com, was developed in 1996 by a UC-Berkeley undergraduate. This website allows customers to access the collections of over 70,000 sellers. This includes new, used, rare, and out of print books. With close to 70 million books available, this site provides the broadest book listing offered anywhere, both online and offline.
Look on the eBay (www.ebay.com) auction website for new as well as used books. Coined as "The World's Online Marketplace," eBay offers users from around the globe the chance to buy, sell, and trade new and used goods. With millions of items traded each and every day, eBay is a prime place to find a book. Although not as extensive, Amazon.com also has an auction website.
In this advanced age of computers and technology, sometimes we forget the old fashioned way to find a book; the library. Visiting your public library or college library is the ideal place to search for the book you desire. And if you are having trouble finding that perfect book at the library, don't worry! Just ask the librarian for help!
